Grape Nebbiolo and Syrah.
Vineyards Deeply in love with Nebbiolo in its diverse expressions, the Pio Family decided to craft it also as a “Rosè” with a small addition of Syrah, trusting the potential of high-profile terroirs.
Both the grape varieties are grown in different exposures in multiple villages of the Langhe region.
Vinification Early harvest and gentle pressing to preserve the finesse of the grapes. Fermentation and ageing partially in stainless steel tanks and partially in French oak barriques of third passage.
Notes
The Rosè was named in the memory of Rosy Pio, the Founder’s granddaughter and also grandmother of Federica and Cesare, the fifth generation.
Savory and spicy with intense aromas, flower scents and great complexity. Even though Rosy was conceived as a more “serious” wine to be paired with important dishes, Rosy is excellent for aperitif or for easy pleasant sips, showing at the same time a good ageing potential.
Produced in very limited quantity every year.
