Grape Sauvignon Blanc
Vineyards After 20 years of experience cultivating Sauvignon Blanc in higher elevations with fresher microclimate, the Pio Family decided to finally vinify this grape variety in purity though in very limited quantity.
From north facing slopes in the historical vineyards at “Bricco di Treiso” and also at “Bossania” in Trezzo Tinella, and very soon in the village of Cissone in Alta Langa.
Vinification Alcoholic fermentation starts in stainless steel tanks. Ageing takes place partially in French oak barriques – 50% new oak – and partially in stainless steel. Long rest in bottle before release.
Notes
A Sauvignon Blanc which faithfully embodies the Langhe terroir. Moderate acidity and nice minerality, complex aromas well-balanced with great structure and persistence, very approachable showing at the same time very long ageing potential.
Produced every year in very small quantity.
