Grape Barbera
Vineyards Fides (latin translation of “trust”) represents the faith and commitment of the Pio Family towards the Barbera, cultivated only in high-profile locations and aged for a long time in the cellar. Mainly sourced from the oldest vines in the “Mosconi” vineyard in the village of Monforte d’Alba.
Vinification Fermentation and long maceration on the skins in stainless steel tanks. Long ageing in big barrels of French and Eastern Europe oak for nearly 12 months and for a small amount in French oak barriques. Long bottle ageing before release.
Notes
Balanced and harmonious with moderate acidity, very pleasant concentration of fruit, nice structure and complexity with refined finish. Extraordinary ageing potential.
“Fides” is produced in small quantity every year, since 1996.
