A linear and fresh barbera with dark fruit, bark, walnuts and orange peel. It’s medium-bodied with well-integrated tannins. Focused and fine. Sophisticated. Tangy finish. Very long. Drink now.

This red is all about finesse and elegance, with a silky texture aligned to black cherry, blackberry, violet and almond aromas and flavors. Beautifully balanced and long, with pure fruit echoing on the finish. Drink now through 2026. 1,555 cases made, 250 cases imported.

The 2020 Barbera d'Alba Fides Vigna Mosconi is gorgeous. Dark, fleshy and super-expressive, the 2020 is packed with plum, blackberry, mocha, lavender, spice and chocolate. Although quite racy and extroverted, the 2020 retains terrific freshness and fine overall balance. It is a joyous Barbera to drink now and over the next handful of years.

The 2020 Barbera d'Alba Superiore Vigna Mosconi Fides delivers big ripeness and fruit weight with inky dark intensity, mature blackberry and syrupy blackberry or cherry essence. This hot vintage comes close to going overboard in terms of ripeness, but it is ultimately reined in by the grape’s fresh acidity.

The 2019 Barbera d'Alba Fides Vigna Mosconi is a fabulous wine that captures all the intensity of this Monforte site. A rush of black cherry, plum, mocha, incense, licorice and bittersweet chocolate are all dialed up. This potent, structured Barbera packs quite the punch. Best of all, it is so distinctive and delicious.

The Pio Cesare 2018 Barbera d'Alba Superiore Fides Vigna Mosconi offer a complete package of Barbera aromas with black fruit, tilled earth and sweet plum or blackberry. This expression offers a larger span of aromas and flavors compared to many of its peers from this vintage. The cooler 2018 growing season was not a great friend to Barbera, a grape that prefers warmth and lots of sunshine. A slim 7,000 bottles of this vintage were produced.

Dense, bright ruby red, deep, sweet spice in the fragrance, juice, fabric, beautiful tannins, strong but also very fine wine

This is a fantastic bottle of barbera from the excellent Mosconi vineyard that shows depth and finesse with compact fruit and polished tannins. It’s fullbodied yet tight and reserved. Extremely long and polished. Wonderful finish. Old vines. Drink or hold. 7,000 bottles made.

Starting with this vintage, this wine now shows a vineyard designate on the front label. The 2017 Barbera d’Alba Superiore Fides Vigna Mosconi offers a very specific bouquet that is rooted in dark ripe fruit on the one hand (with blackberry, black cherry, cassis and plum) and distinctive mineral notes on the other hand. It offers dark concentration and smooth intensity in terms of texture. I’d serve it with a steak and frites. Some 7,000 bottles were made.
